Hi there! I’m Emily.
And I like to write.
It started with doodles and poetry in Lisa Frank notebooks with washable markers. Over the years, my stories got longer and longer and, if I do say so myself, more romantic. Oh, and yes, I now use a laptop.
These days, I write contemporary Christian romance that sets out to thoughtfully explore questions that are relevant to us all.
Just how good is grace? What does it mean to right our wrongs? How can we trust people, even as we live in a broken world?
If you’ve read a few of my stories, you may have noticed I usually set my stories in some fictionalized area of Wisconsin, where I live with my husband.
Though I like to think some of my characters are pretty great, the ultimate hero of my stories (including the one I’m living) is Jesus. I enjoy gardening, road trips to the mountains, and walks with my energetic coonhound rescue.
My debut novel, Justice, released from Pelican Book Group in 2018. I’m a member of American Christian Fiction Writers, and I’m honored to have won their First Impressions contest in 2015. I’m also a hope*writer, and I serve as their WebChat Coordinator. My non-fiction has appeared on GraceTable.org, in Southern Writer’s Magazine, and Seriously Write.
I’d love to connect online here (links below!).
Or, you can have my writing delivered right to your inbox! I’m especially excited about my new story installment subscription. Escape into quick 2-5 minute installments of romantic, faith-filled short stories.

Stayed up way too late reading, and woke up way too early to read some more.
